For some reason all my pages in subdirectories of my site http://www.barrettsmallengine.com will no longer open with Page Builder. The pages in my main directory open just fine. Anyone know what is going on at Yahoo Web Hosting?
I think I found the problem. If you view the source code of the file manager in the root directory, and then view the source code of the file manager in a subdirectory, there is a difference in the link for each file. Here it is:
IN ROOT DIRECTORY:
The difference is the “type=html” this is now added to the file links in the subdirectory File Manager for some unknown reason. It is likely the reason why Page Builder won’t recognize the files.
Looks like I was a little fast off the mark with that additional information about the cause, because one hour later and Yahoo Web Hosting has fixed the problem. The “type=html” has also disappeared from the file links in the subdirectory source code. I am very relieved!
Maybe I wasn’t so fast off the mark. After the problem was fixed last night, and receiving an email from Yahoo saying the problem was resolved, today the problem is back again. However today some pages in only one of my subdirectories still open with Page Builder. All the others have that “type=html” in the file links again. What a mess!
After 4 phone calls that run you through the same drawn out process and leave you with no answers, and countless emails that get an automated responce, I have come to the conclusion that Yahoo Small Business does not care about it’s customers. It’s now been over a week that I have been unable to edit my pages in subdirectories. I have been a loyal customer of Yahoo Web Hosting since 2003, and this kind of treatment is unacceptable. If I am forced to start using a different program to create my website I will no longer pay a company like Yahoo to host it. They need to remove the “Small Business” from the name of their service, because small business needs reliability from it’s suppliers, and Yahoo’s web hosting service is too full of problems and poor service. It’s clear that our choices are to wait for some one at the amateur Yahoo Small Business service to get around to fixing this problem, or move our sites to a professional hosting provider. I know my patience is running out!
I probably should not be surprised by what a mess Yahoo Small Business is. Just take a look at the search engine. I could never understand why Yahoo doesn’t understand why Google is more successful. It’s not because a Google search returns better results than Yahoo. It’s because Yahoo.com looks more like CNN.com than a search engine. When I want to search for something I like the simple straight forward approach that Google offers. If I want to read the news I will go to CNN. Yahoo should have picked one long ago, either a search engine or a news provider but not both. As for returning poor search results, that would MSN’s problem (or Bing or what ever they are calling it now). If Yahoo dumped all news, annoying links and other clutter I would chose it over Google any day, and I bet I’m not the only one.

I am having the EXACT same problem…I wish I could help you out, but just wanted to chime in and say the same thing is happening to me! If you find a way to fix it let me know, and I will do the same. This really *****!
Edit: Yours is fixed? Mine still isn’t =(
Edit Again: Yes, I agree, this is absolutely retarded. Yahoo has been of NO help at all, though I believe the problem is 100% on their end. I’ve restarted my computer, browser, reinstalled my browser, tried on a different browser, tried on a different computer, disabled all plugins / add-ons, cleared my cache, checked for viruses, and NOTHING. If this doesn’t get fixed soon I’ll be asking for my $12.95 back.

Last night I tryed creating a new page with page builder and saving it in a subdirectory. It saved just fine and the page would still open with page builder, but this morning this page no longer opens with page builder. Its clear that they did something at Yahoo Web Hosting on Thursday, January 14 to cause this problem and it is still messing up our sites.
It would be wise that no one create any more pages in subdirectories with page builder until they fix this problem. If you do, you will not be able to re-open the page with page builder the next day.
I only pray that this can be fixed, and the problem is not permanent. If it is permanent than I am faced with years of work destroyed by a Yahoo Web Hosting problem!

I had the exact same problem. I ended up switching to a different hosting company after I got no response from yahoo to resolve my issues, and they made a simple task so difficult when I tried to change DNS settings for my domain from yahoo to the new host I conveniently got an “error” and “try again later” message.
I know you’re feeling let down by yahoo after being with them for so long, but to be honest, make it your business decision to move on to something better.
Here’s the hosting company I found:
Their rates are very low, their tech support is excellent, and above all, I like that security is their main concern. At least for me, I know trusting a company with my site means a lot. I need to know the time I’ve invested to my site will not be taken lightly, as it did with yahoo (it’s strictly business…I still like yahoo)
